I own a few dozens of vegan cookbooks and I must admit that "Go Vegan!" surpassed them all.
If you are thinking about transitioning to plant-based life style and looking for a comprehensive, no-nonsense guide that will hold your hand through this process, look no more, this is THE book.
Marlene's message is clear - conquer your kitchen and change your habits, and you will enjoy a healthy, happy, long life, without harming other sentient beings and leaving a lighter footprint on the planet. She shines in this book, as she shows you exactly how she has done it in her household for decades. She shares the challenges of a busy modern life and has hacks to overcome it, so you have no more excuses not to make this choice.
I really like the structure of this book, with great tips how to stock your pantry and what kitchen equipment is essential, how to adapt to various life circumstances without compromising on food quality, with little nuggets of ancient wisdom, modern science and environmental information, with a comprehensive chapter on nutrition and a delightful section (spoiler alert!) on the Human Ecology Diet by Bill Tara. This book is very personal - Marlene shares with you her ways and her tips, and leaves you a lot of space to adapt them to your own circumstances.
As for the recipes themselves, Marlene's range makes a perfect repertoire for any kind of situation, from daily simplicity on the rush to elaborated sumptuous meals for special guests, while still being perfectly attainable for anyone who is a novice in their own kitchen. What's more to say: her recipes are a feast for the senses, the food is sublime, while being incredibly healthy and perfectly balanced, not only from nutritional point of view, but even texture-wise.
Marlene's enthusiasm is contagious and her book is filled with humour. It is impossible not to have good time when you invite Marlene into your kitchen. Do so now!

This book is way more than just recipes and knowing how to go vegan. The ancient philosophy on diet looks beyond the calorie and protein parameters and understands food from energy perspective. The tastes have their own health relevance and the theory of five transformations is the deep rooted key to maintaining deep internal balance. This is exactly how Marlene has tried to create the Go Vegan book that delves into creating preparations that care of all important tastes as well as how five transformations applies to foods. A must-have book for anyone wanting to get into just the right approach to cooking tasty recipes. Highly recommended!

Marlene Watson-Tara's Go Vegan is one of my favorite cookbooks (which is a tough spot to gain in my house, because I have so many wonderful cookbooks). It's great for vegans and vegetarians, but it's just as great for anyone that wants to make simple yet impactful changes to the health of the bodies or their families (or the planet). This compassionate way of cooking is so satisfying to the mind, body, and soul.
The book's design layout and photos make it easy and enjoyable to read. The bright, clean photos are each a feast for your eyes and they make you want to get in the kitchen to cook.
Each of the vibrant and colorful (essential when feeding yourself and others) recipes I have tried so far are complete meals filled with protein, healthy fats, and vitamins. Some of my favorite recipes are the Couscous Rainbow Salad with Lemon and Lime Tahini Sauce, American Noodle Salad, Rice and Corn Fusilli with Broccoli and Lemon Cashew Sauce, and Chocolate Adzuki Bites. I can't wait to test out the Peach Kanten and Sweet Date Cream dessert and the Spaghetti with Basil ad Watercress Pesto.
There's a lot of conflictual information about what it means to healthy - a lot of products and diets competing for your money. This book helps to simplify health. If you cook and eat these recipes, over time, you will learn what health feels like in your body and mind. If you stick with it (and yes, it takes time) you will further develop compassion and creativity.

Fabulous cookbook and guide to vegan eating, whether or not you need help starting or are already vegan. I love how this book is so uniquely organized, with lots of great information, glorious photos of the recipes and how tos. Absolutely wonderful!
